The Client

Our client is a highly successful logistics firm in Ireland. Over the years, client has been able to differentiate themselves from other logistic companies based on their promise of providing tailor-made, IT logistics at affordable rates.

The Need

The client wanted a functional and easy to use iOS and Android app that could enable easy, real-time tracking of consignments and manifests, and simplify the process of picking, delivering and updating the consignments on the central database for the truckers.

The Challenge

While developing the mobile app for the client, our team of developers faced certain challenges, including –

  • We had to complete the project within a very short turnaround time
  • We had to implement a robust GPS functionality within the app for real time updates
  • The apps developed were required to have a streamlined and easy to use interface for trucker reporting (delivery details, consignment receipt, loss of consignments, damages etc.)
  • The app needed to support a system for locating manifests and consignments easily
  • The app need to integrate different third party tracking APIs and payment getaway system.

The Solution

Given the fact that the client wanted a comprehensive mobile application solution in as quick a time as possible, we developed an app with the following features for enhanced client satisfaction –

  • We created a native mobile application in iOS and android.
  • The app simplified the trucker reporting features, ensuring the following –
    • The app could now directly prompt the trucker when a consignment was available for pickup
    • The trucker could accept or reject the consignment through the app itself within 30 minutes
    • Other reporting features such as consignment delivery, Ready for pickup, Delivered etc.
  • The app had a comprehensive GPS functionality, ensuring all trucker and consignment details and movement could be tracked in real time
  • We also built barcode based-search functionality within the app, ensuring all consignments and manifests could be traced easily

The Result

The client was extremely satisfied with our all-round mobile application solution, and was able to effortlessly incorporate it within his existing structure. Some of the high-points of our successful collaboration include –
